After reading rave reviews, I purchased my Micralite Toro and waited 4 months for delivery. The carrycot newborn system was wonderful, but now that we are in the regular stroller seat, there are SERIOUS TIPPING PROBLEMS. Company representatives tell me that because of the large rear wheels and small front wheels, there is a tipping hazard that is exacerbated by adding any weight at all to the handlebars. Therefore Mom cannot hang a diaper bag or coffee cup or anything on the frame. There is also very limited under carriage storage because, in the distributor’s words, “it is not intended for storage. ”
Each time I take my baby out of the carriage I have to steady it so that it doesn’t tip. My boy is only 4 months now; I wonder what will happen when he is big enough to move around and shift his own weight. Will it tip over on its own???? If you are buying this stroller strictly for walking around with no need to carry diapers, wipes, bottles, etc, then this is your product. Otherwise, I advise you to consider other options.

As any parent would my wife and I seemingly examined every stroller on the market and we fell in love with the Toro on first sight and have loved every day since. First, it is very light which makes it a dream taking it in and out of cars and taxis. Second, it suspension is fantastic. It is like it has air shocks and absorbs every bump. Third, it collapses so easily into the smallest area. The instructions say use two hands but it is easily a one handed job. Fourth, its bassinet section is large and its position is quite high. Compared to a Bugaboo it is at least 5 inches higher which makes it much easier for your baby to see you. Fifth, it comes with foot muff which is extra on the bugaboo. Sixth, it turns on a dime and steers easily one handed. Seventh, the brake is incredibly easy to use and it works perfectly. You could park this stroller on the side of a San Francisco hill and it would not roll with the brake on. Eighth, it is very easy to maneuver over street curbs, stairs, and other obstacles.
I would like to comment on the tipping over, storage concerns and handlebar issues. I would be the first to say that the stroller can tip over if you have a 10 pound bag attached to the handlebars bars. Under normal daily use however with a well stocked bag our stroller has never tipped over. Now regarding storage capacity. Yes again I would agree that you can not put five bags of groceries under the stroller but we have fond however that the storage capacity in the stroller is more than adequate. We live in New York City and have never had a problem coming back from the store. Lastly, the handlebars rotate so it can adjust to different sizes. Ok if your 6 foot 10 inches you may have a problem but for many people I can not see this as an issue.
Overall, considering its light weight, it compactness when collapsed, handling, accessories it comes with out of the box, and overall styling I would have give the Stroller an A.

We have the micralite toro stroller and love it! We live in Brooklyn and are always on the go - walking the city streets, going on the subway, in and out of stores and restaurants. The stroller has the best and easiest turn, the one-handed push is a dream (especially for talking on the phone while pushing) and the fold is easy. Highly recommend for people in cities with lots of walking.

and i LOVE it. Some quick things. . .
- the fact that this stroller collapses in one motion and stands upright when folded is genius. i have seen too many people struggle with bending over to pick up their strollers once collapsed, removing the seat to collapse their bugaboos. . .
- tipping over, when the handlebars are loaded with shopping bags and such has happened once or twice. But you know what - it’s a stroller, not a shopping cart, not a coat rack. I travel around with the basics for my child - food, diapers and change of clothes, in a flexible Envirosak - and this fits in the basket underneath just fine.
- this is not a bulky stroller. it is narrow and streamlined. i have no problem maneuvering through aisles carved out between clothes racks in a store or through crowds of people. .
- the seat reclines all the way back - even now, as a one year old, my daughter can nap in the stroller comfortably.
what else. . . this is just a great stroller. not too heavy, has travelled well cross country with us and yup. . it looks cool.

We couldn’t find this in any store so ordered it to try it out after being frustrated by the difficult folding of the Bugaboo and the sheer size of the Quinny.
The pros: It looks cool. The orange is great. Folded it stands very well and stable (without needing to lock the wheels as a separate step) and relatively compact. My husband was in love with its easy steering (even with one hand).
The cons: First and foremost, the basket is unusable. You can barely see it in the pictures, but there’s a black strap that runs between the “axles” of the front and rear wheels. It sits at the top of the basket netting and is taut. Thus, the top of the basket is split into two sections, and neither was large enough for my medium-sized purse to fit into. Each section forms a right triangle, about 6-8″ across at the widest part. It would fit a few shopping bags each containing one item, but it can’t handle a single medium-size item like a purse or a diaper bag. Also, Micralite doesn’t provide an attachment for drinks or a place to stash your keys. The sun cover is the minimum I’d accept in a stroller. The stroller seat itself is small (like some others such as the Quinny) so a child will outgrow it by the age of 3. We had our small-framed but tall 4-year-old sit in it and it’s the first stroller that she really just couldn’t even get into. (She could sit uncomfortably in the Quinny, but not at all in the Micralite. ) Finally, perhaps there’s a way to get rid of the bar across the seat, but if not, it was really awkward to open and push aside for a walker to crawl into; lowering a child into the seat from your arms isn’t a problem.
All in all, there are better strollers. I think I could forgive everything but the basket mis-engineering. Who travels with a baby/toddler and doesn’t carry a decent-sized purse or diaper bag?
